Public notice for the presentation of Project Proposals for Research activities carried out within the “Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition (NEST)” Project, Project Code PE0000021, CUP D93C22000900001 financed within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Mission 4 “ Education and research” – Component 2 “From research to business” – Investment 1.3, financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU. 

Who is it aimed at?

Subjects external to the NEST extended partnership identified in: - Public Administrations; - Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) competing individually or collaboratively with other companies, are eligible to submit projects for the recognition of the contribution envisaged by this Notice. having the dimensional parameters referred to in Annex I of REG (EC) n. 800/2008 of the Commission of 6 August 2008 (General block exemption regulation) in OJEU L 214 of 9.8.2008; - Innovative startups (art. 25, paragraph 2 of Legislative Decree 179/2012); - Large companies (GI); - Foreign companies with an operational headquarters in Southern Italy (if this is not already present, any opening of the headquarters must take place by the date of submission of the application); - Universities and Bodies Supervised by the MUR; - The Research organizations registered with the ANR; - Public and private foundations, registered with the ANR, with recognized legal personality and a statute in which the carrying out of Research & Innovation activities is indicated among the fundamental objectives; - Consortium companies and Consortia of international importance, provided that at least one partner has an operational unit in Italy. 

What does it predict

The NEST Research and Innovation Program “Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition” (PE000021), financed by the European Union as part of the Next Generation EU initiative, drawing on the resources of Mission 4 “Education and research”, Component 2 “From business research”, Investment 1.3 “Partnerships extended to universities, research centres, companies and financing of research projects” of the PNRR, envisages initiatives based on cascade funding (Cascade funding) to support Proof of Concept and collaborative projects (both fundamental research, industrial research and/or experimental development) involving public administrations, universities, research organizations and companies interested in the Hub's themes and the topics covered by the Spokes and managed in collaboration with the Hub. From this perspective, Spoke 2 "Energy Harvesting and Off-shore renewable" promotes this cascade call with the aim of increasing the levels of technological maturity (TRL-Technology Readiness Level) envisaged by the NEST programme, through the involvement of subjects external to the project, strongly interested in introducing/implementing significant innovations that act as a trailblazer and/or as a tool for accelerating and specializing the activities carried out by the Spokes for the search for technologically advanced solutions, in relation to products, processes and services transferable to NEST's areas of intervention. Topics covered by this Notice TOPIC 1: Development of a digital platform for access to relevant data for the installation of renewable energy conversion technologies from marine sources, with particular focus on the Mediterranean. TOPIC 2: At-sea testing of scale models of marine energy conversion systems for the development and calibration of digital twins. TOPIC 3: Magnetic tunneling junctions for the development of electromagnetic energy harvesting for "green Io T" applications.
