Things
Spoke 8 has as its research topic the optimization of end uses, sustainability and resilience in the energy supply chain. This topic falls squarely with one of the challenges of European Energy Policy (Energy Efficiency First), that of transforming Europe into a highly efficient energy economy with zero CO2 emissions, catalyzing a New Industrial Revolution, accelerating the transition to decarbonisation and , over a period of years, dramatically increasing the amount of local, low-carbon energy we produce and use, highlighting that renewable energy sources are the key to change.
Who is it aimed at?
All beneficiaries must be either companies or research organisations. The partners of the Extended Partnership project “NEST – Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition” cannot be beneficiaries of the funding provided for by this notice. The Notice is dedicated to financing Collaborative R&D Projects, i.e. carried out in Effective Collaboration between at least one Company and at least one other Beneficiary, Research Organization or Company.
What does it predict
NEST is an Extended Partnership that aims to fund basic research projects to strengthen research supply chains at national level and promote their participation in European and global strategic value chains. The extended NEST partnership “Network 4 Energy Sustainable Transition” focuses on the topic of “Energy Scenarios of the Future” with particular reference to the sub-theme “Green Energy of the Future”. Spoke 8 is divided into several Work Packages listed below, as well as targeted coordination and dissemination actions of the results achieved: WP1 – Horizontal scientific aspects, WP2 – Regulation, governance and markets, WP3 – Low (Zero) carbon technologies for the reduction of energy demand, electrification, and efficiency of final uses,WP4 – Renewable Energy communities, smart districts and smart cities to enhance energy self sufficiency and security in final uses,WP 5 – Climate change adaptation and energy system resilience,WP 6 – Digitalization in final uses of energy. The project proposals must be related to the following topics of priority interest for spoke 8:• Energy and Electrical Efficiency Technologies,• Management and Sustainability of Energy and the Electricity System.
