Cascading call as part of the “ON Foods (Research and Innovation Network on Food and Nutrition Sustainability, Safety and Security – Working ON Foods)” Project, Spoke 3 “Food Safety of Traditional and Novel Foods”, aimed at financing 10 Projects of Research conducted by Companies also in collaboration with State Universities, non-State Universities legally recognized and accredited by the MUR and Public Research Bodies.

What does it predict

The call finances 10 Research Projects, one for each of the Themes listed below: Theme 1: Identification and characterization of new and (re)emerging dangers in traditional food products – €570,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD share; Theme 2: Integrated methodologies for assessing the risk and risk-benefit ratio of innovative innovative foods and supplements – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD share; Theme 3: Functional characterization and risk assessment of new/existing packaging materials or systems in contact with food – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD quota; Theme 4: Characterization and risk assessment of genetically modified microorganisms for use in the agri-food industry – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD quota; Theme 5: New strategies to mitigate (re)emerging chemical and biological risk through use of model systems – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SOUTH quota; Theme 6: Improvement of food safety through the development of innovative biotechnological and/or technological approaches to be integrated into the production of traditional foods – €570,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD share; Theme 7: Biotechnological and technological approaches to improve the quality and safety of innovative foods – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD share; Theme 8: Extension of the commercial life and improvement of the hygienic and health quality of food products through innovative and sustainable packaging systems – €555,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD quota; Topic 9: Advanced and integrated analytical methods to guarantee the chemical/biological safety of traditional and innovative foods – €400,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD share; Topic 10: Development of digital solutions for improving safety in food supply chains through the use of algorithms dedicated to traceability and risk assessment – ​​€400,000.00 – Intervention 100% SUD quota.
