Promoted by the Regional Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region in the context of the 2021-2027 Development and Cohesion Fund , the announcement provides 135 million euros to encourage production investments in the tourism sector.

The initiative stems from the need to improve the quality level of the Sicilian accommodation offer , stimulating the hotel and extra-hotel sector towards a total improvement in receptive standards, with particular attention to environmental compatibility, sustainability and digitization.

The announcement is part of the broader strategic framework of the Triennial Tourist Development Program 2024-2026 of the Sicilian Region, which aims to consolidate the ability of attraction of tourist flows and enhance the enormous historical, cultural and natural heritage of the island.

The 70% -30% distribution between the two regimes reflects a precise strategy:

  • The exemption regime favors greater investments, capable of generating a significant structural impact
  • The de minimis regime supports more contained but widespread investments, favoring access also to smaller companies

Flexibility in resource management

The announcement includes a flexibility clause : in case of non -complete use of the budget of one of the two rankings, the residual sums can be used for the sliding of the other ranking, ensuring maximum use of the available resources.

After months of waiting, the time has finally come that the whole Sicilian tourism sector was waiting for: DDG n. 2106/S11 of 25 June 2025 officially opened the counter for the FSC Sicilia Turismo concessions, providing € 135 million for the relaunch of the tourist-receptive companies of the island.

A historical opportunity for Sicilian tourism

The announcement represents an unrepeatable opportunity to modernize and enhance the Sicilian accommodation offer. With such an important financial endowment, distributed between exemption regime (70%) and de minimis (30%), companies finally have access to concrete tools to compete on national and international markets.

The novelties of the decree

The new decree has introduced significant changes that change the rules of the game:

  • Updated minimum surfaces according to LR 6/2025
  • More stringent constraints for third party properties (minimum residual duration 8 years)
  • Detailed evaluation criteria to optimize scores

Types of intervention that can be financed

The announcement supports three investment macro-categatives:

  1. Expansion and modernization of existing structures
  2. Realization of new structures through intended use gearbox
  3. Recovery and completion of united tourist properties
