The Chamber of Commerce of Maremma and the Tyrrhenian Sea, with the Sustainable Business Award, intends to enhance local businesses that have distinguished themselves in the field of environmental, social, economic and digital sustainability, demonstrating a spirit of adaptation and capacity for innovation in the face of new market needs as well as attention to the sustainable development goals set out in the United Nations 2030 Agenda. 

Who is it aimed at?

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, their cooperatives and consortia, falling within the definition of small and medium-sized enterprises referred to in Annex 1 of Regulation no. can participate in the Sustainable Business Award. 651/2014/EU 1 of the European Commission, in possession of the following requirements: a) have its registered office in the province of Livorno or Grosseto; b) be regularly registered in the Business Register or in the Economic Administrative Repertoire (REA) of the Maremma Chamber of Commerce and del Tirreno; c) be active (start of business registered with the Chamber of Commerce); d) be in good standing, as of 31.12.2023, with the payment of the annual fee for the last 5 years; e) not be in liquidation judicial, liquidation, controlled administration, preventive agreement or in any other equivalent situation according to current legislation; f) have regularly fulfilled the social security and welfare contribution obligations (regular DURC); g) have no current contracts for the supply of services, also free of charge, with the Maremma and Tyrrhenian Chamber of Commerce, pursuant to article 4, paragraph 6 of Legislative Decree 06.07.2012, n. 95 (converted into Law 07.08.2012, n. 135);h) be in compliance with European legislation on State Aid;i) have completed the sustainability assessment for companies “SUSTAINability” available at suesg.dintec .it.

What does it predict

There are four prizes worth 5,000.00 euros each to four companies that have implemented corporate sustainability projects starting from 1 January 2022, falling into one of the following categories: a) Environmental sustainability: includes all the innovations and the processes that the company has developed to reduce its impact on the environment in terms of energy and material savings, transition from fossil energy resources to renewable energy, reduction of water consumption, non-use of dangerous substances, reduction of CO2 emissions and other climate-altering gases, adoption of circular economy solutions; b) Social sustainability: includes the actions implemented by the company to enhance staff, in order to reduce inequalities and poverty as well as to promote dignified working conditions; c) Sustainability economic: includes the set of actions that the company has developed in order to adopt an economic model that generates work, allows the satisfaction of human needs and a better quality of life, maintains added value in the territory, combines resources in an effective and promote lasting growth of economic indicators, providing support to the territorial system; d) Digital sustainability: includes the innovations and IT technologies that the company has adopted to generate positive impacts and repercussions on an environmental, social and/or economic level. The corporate sustainability project must be implemented and concluded before the date of submission of the application for participation.
