The fund supports and accelerates the processes of innovation, growth and lasting restart of the national production system through the promotion of initiatives and investments useful for the valorisation and use of research results in companies, with particular reference to startups and innovative SMEs. 

Who is it aimed at?

The following are eligible for intervention: innovative SMEs with high growth potential. • innovative startups • innovative SMEs • Spin-offs and spin-outs of universities, public and private research centers and institutes, science and technology parks.

What does it predict

Depending on the characteristics and specific financing needs of companies, investments can take the form of equity and quasi-equity interventions, convertible loans and financial participation instruments, contracts and grants containing convertible options. The Fund intervenes for each company in an amount of no less than 100,000 euros and no more than 15,000,000, in compliance with the limits established by the facilitation regulations applicable from time to time. With interministerial decree of 29 April 2022, published in the Official Journal no. 138 of 15 June 2022, the financial resources to be allocated to the "Fund for biomedical industrial research and development" were defined.
