With the Directorial Decree of 29 January 2018, the establishment is promoted and defines the conditions, criteria and financing methods, within the limit of 20 million euros for 2017 and 20 million euros for 2018, of the centers of competence, in form of public-private partnership.
Who is it aimed at?
The competence centers are public-private partnerships whose task is to carry out orientation and training activities for companies on Industry 4.0 issues as well as support in the implementation of innovation, industrial research and experimental development projects aimed at the realization, by user companies, in particular SMEs, of new products, processes or services (or their improvement) through advanced technologies in the Industry 4.0 context. The eight centers that have been selected are: 1) CIM 4.0 – Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 2) Made – Competence Center Industria 4.0 3) BI-REX – Big data Innovation-Research EXcellence 4) ARTES 4.0 – Industry 4.0 Competence Center on Advanced Robotics and enabling digital TEchnologies & Systems 4.0 5) SMACT Competence Center 6) Med ITech Competence Center I 4.0 7) START 4.0 – Security and optimization of Strategic Infrastructures Industry 4.0 8) CYBER 4.0 – Cybersecurity Competence Center
What does it predict
The benefits to the competence centers are granted in the form of direct contributions to expenses in relation to: – establishment and start-up of the competence centre, to the extent of 50 percent of the expenses incurred, for a total amount not exceeding 7.5 million euro, – innovation, industrial research and experimental development projects presented by companies, to the extent of 50 percent of the expenses incurred, for a maximum amount not exceeding 200 thousand euros per project.
