The intervention, promoted by MIMIT, has the strategic objective of selecting, financing and promoting digital and media literacy projects, of a communicative and educational nature, for minors, including those of an innovative nature, focused on at least one of the following lines of intervention: - prevention of the phenomenon of cyberbullying or any other form of violence, harassment, blackmail and denigration carried out on minors, through the inappropriate use of new technologies; - support for parents to increase knowledge regarding the use of web and related risks; - prevention of possible other abuses deriving from exposure of minors to the web, with particular attention to the related risks connected to emulation, online solicitation, social isolation, digital manipulation and social media addiction media”;- development of knowledge on digital citizenship for a conscious use of new technologies by minors and promotion of algorithmic awareness and critical sense by teens (subjects aged between 14 and 18 years of age) . The projects must guarantee attention to the best interests of minors, to protect their needs and their relationships in the digital environment, and necessarily be directed at the primary target of minors aged between 8 and 18 years of age. In addition, they can also be directed at the secondary target consisting of parents, educators and teachers, operators who deal with minors.
Who is it aimed at?
The Notice is aimed at companies that operate as media service providers or as providers of video sharing platforms, who can apply as the leader of a partnership, of which a third sector body must necessarily be part of non-commercial nature (ETS) registered with RUNTS. The ETS must provide in its statute for the carrying out of activities for the promotion, protection and public protection of minors, or activities expressly attributable to the object, purposes, lines of intervention and actions envisaged by the Notice and, on the date of submission of the application, must have been in existence for at least two years, in the form of a public deed or authenticated or registered private agreement.
What does it predict
The intervention supports the development and testing of educational project proposals for the protection of minors and media and digital literacy, also with regard to the prevention of possible abuse and harmful behaviour. Specifically, eligible projects must necessarily include: - the creation of educational materials, such as guides, video tutorials, infographics, quizzes, interactive games, podcasts, audiovisual formats, usable on media and web platforms; - the creation of awareness campaigns on audiovisual media, on web platforms to promote awareness of the importance of media and digital literacy. Optionally, the proposed projects may also include the implementation of courses or workshops, to be offered in person and/or online on web platforms, with the involvement of sector experts and, possibly, in collaboration with libraries, juvenile centers and other organizations that operate in the reference sector. For eligibility purposes, project proposals must have the following characteristics: - be presented by a partnership with a participation of the partner ETS between 30% and 50% of the total amount of the project; - include elements and/or innovative technological solutions to support the project actions; - expect the activities to be completed no later than 30 September 2025. It should be noted that additional partner entities may be involved in the partnership such as: - other companies that operate as platform providers for video sharing; - other companies operating as media service providers; - audiovisual and video game production companies; - central or local public administrations; - scholastic and/or educational and/or recreational institutions.
