The relief measure supports companies' research and development projects, to be carried out after the date of submission of the application. Research and development projects are supported, also carried out jointly with other entities, relating to the following activities: - industrial research; - experimental development. Industrial research and experimental development activities must be aimed at the creation of new products, processes or services or at the significant improvement of existing products, processes or services. The facilitation measure is divided into the following sub-measures: - experimental research and development projects carried out by small, medium and large companies (sub-measure A1); - experimental research and development programs carried out by company research centers (sub-measure A2).
Who is it aimed at?
The initiative is aimed at companies of any size (including research centers) that meet the required requirements. The eligible projects must: a) be carried out within an operational unit located in the Province of Trento; b) be started within 3 months from the date of granting the incentive; c) for submeasure A1 – Experimental research and development projects, be completed within 3 years from the start date of the project; d) for submeasure A2 – Research and development programs of research centres, be completed within 5 years from the start date of the project. For the purposes of granting the incentive, projects with an admitted expenditure amount exceeding 1 million euros are subject to the signing of an agreement between the Province and the company requesting the incentive. Territorial development objectives and obligations are shared in the Pact.
What does it predict
A non-repayable contribution under the exemption regime is envisaged for a minimum eligible expenditure exceeding 1,000,000 euros. The projects are examined through a negotiation procedure.
