The partnership for research and innovation in the Mediterranean area (first) has launched the new calls that face the strategic objectives of research and innovation of the partnership through a global and interconnected response. The Work Program 2025 has been developed to fill the gaps detected in previous financing cycles and face new regional challenges, aggravated by climate change and the effects of Covid-19 pandemics. The program therefore focuses on the strengthening of environmental resilience through the restoration of ecosystems and the adoption of nature -based solutions, with particular reference to agriculture and the management of water resources. The main thematic areas concern:

  • Management of water resources: development of digital tools, such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT), for adaptive water management and support for public policies.
  • Agricultural systems: promotion of precision agriculture for small producers and support for biodiversity, soil health and inclusive agricultural practices.
  • Agro -food supply chain: consumer awareness of sustainable choices, enhancement of vegetable proteins and improvement of traceability solutions.
